Cambridgeshire Young People’s Film Festival

The Cambridgeshire
Young People’s Film Festival
2016

Huntingdon Primary had our very own film festival earlier in the year (you can see the details on that here) and the winning films from each category were¬†submitted to the Cambridgeshire Young People’s Film Festival 2016. We submitted eight films in total and five of those were nominated as finalists along with films from schools across Cambridgeshire.

So on Thursday 7th July 25 of our young film makers got on the bus and made their way to the Cambridge Corn Exchange for the Oscar style awards ceremony to see who had won.

Winning children were invited on stage to receive their award and watch their film on the big screen, as well as answer a few questions!

Out of our five nominated films, four of them won awards! Two of them even came first in their category:

Year six: First Place in the Animation category

Year one: First Place overall

EYFS: Special Commendation

Year three Digital Leaders: Special Commendation

We couldn’t be more proud of the children involved and we can’t wait to see what they create next.

You can view some images from the night in the slide show above, and you can see all five of the nominated videos by clicking here.
