Football in the sunshine!

We played our match against Stukeley Meadows in the glorious afternoon sunshine today which helped ease a defeat of 9-0. As always, the boys played with great resilience and respect and I am very proud of them all. Charlie pulled off some extremely acrobatic saves which kept us in the match and Kian had a one on one run at goal which he was

League Match against Godmanchester

Another great team performance despite initially not being able to get on the pitch, only having 8 players even after drafting in Alfie L at the last minute and our pitch being ruined by the builders! Miss Newton helped to lower my blood pressure on the sidelines and the referee was Aaron doing a stirling job for his first time in the middle. Everyone

Football Tournament

The HPS team was in action this morning at the football tournament in St. Ives where we played 3 matches. I have come to expect a great team performance and once again the players did not let me down. We play with such resilience, determination and fair play. Charlie was without doubt man of the tournament saving spectacularly and finding an inch perfect pass

League Match against Thongsley Fields

Another great team performance saw us hold Thongsley to 1-0 until half time with a very good spree of passing from us and some innovative football. Unfortunately, shortly after half time, we let in 2 goals in less than 2 minutes and despite a fantastic shot that hit the crossbar, we were unable to score and eventually we lost 4-0. Once again, some awesome

Match against St. John’s Primary School

What a great game we played tonight against St. John’s Primary School. The team had the benefit of two fabulous assistant coaches in the form of Aaron and Jay and we kept the score to 1-0 for the first half. Unfortunately a lapse in concentration saw us leak a further 3 goals in the space of 5 minutes and the final score was 4-0. We

First Match of 2015

Here we all are in the brand new kit: Unfortunately we were playing the Under 10 cup match against a very experienced Priory Junior School team who have many children playing for academies and we lost by eleven goals. We put up a good display of teamwork and never gave up, showing a lot of resilience and I am very proud of the team

Cup Match against Buckden

Although the team lost 4-0 to Buckden with some fabulous saves from Kian, something we have come to expect, we are really proud of the players. I had double booked myself so Mr Maltby stepped into the breech and provided my usual touchline enthusiasm for which I am very grateful! Mr Maltby told me that Mitchell and Freddie nearly scored while Buckden had a super

St. Ives Football Tournament Saturday 11th October 2014

The Huntingdon Primary football team was in action yesterday at a tournament in St. Ives. We played 6 matches and displayed all of our school values while we were there: ∼Teamwork with the players encouraging each other ∼Resilience when the opposition scored and we did not give up ∼Courage when we were tackled and getting straight up and on with the game ∼Pride

Last Match of the Season!

Another great performance from the boys and Paris last night. Mr Naylor thinks the score was 5-0 (he says that 2 don’t count!) but in fact the final score was 7-0, which is a testament to the awesome goalkeeping skills of Kian who saved some spectacular shots. It was amazing to watch Kian spring into action and punch the shots clear. We were under a

Narrow defeat against St. Anne’s

A good performance by the team and a narrow defeat to St. Anne’s. It was like playing in the Brazilian sunshine with the sweat dripping off the boys at half time due to the effort they had put in and the spectators sunning themselves on the side line. We lost an early goal and then Josh scored to draw us level. George W hit
