Year Four’s Burrito Making Workshop at Chiquitos

Last week some of the Year Four children went to Chiquito to take part in a burrito-making workshop. The children enjoyed feeling grown up in a restaurant where they got to try new foods. They loved trying nachos with salsa, guacomole and sour cream. We found out what ingredients were used to make these delicious dips and the best combination to eat them. The children then made their own burritos with a choice of fillings such as chicken, salad, rice and chilli. A competition was held for the “most professional looking burrito” and the chef’s winner was Livia! All of the burritos were then popped into the oven by the chef and devoured by the children.

Thank you to the staff at Chiquito for arranging a great trip and for the lovely sombrero hats given to the children. The children were role models for HPS in their restaurant behaviour and have enjoyed writing blogs about their experience on the school website. Please see the link below to read and enjoy the children’s blogs. https://hpsblogs.net/
