Attendance at school

by | Feb 27, 2018

Over previous years there has been a steady increase in the school’s overall attendance.

End of the day:

We know that emergencies happen which mean that a parent / carer may occasionally arrive late to collect their child/ children at the end of the day. Please try to let us know by telephone if this going to be the case.

Thank you to the many parents who ensure that their children attend regularly and arrive on time.

The following information does not affect most families but it is important for you to be aware that it is happening.

Lateness:

To reduce lateness there will be random On Site Checks for children/parents arriving to school after 8.55am.

These will be carried out by the Education Welfare Officer, Mr Paul Ward.

The school is required to work within clear guidelines. These guidelines are agreed by all local Schools.
Term Time Absence:

Penalty notices have been issued to some parent/carers taking unauthorised leave during term time. These are issue either by the Education Welfare Officer, currently Mr Paul Ward.

A reminder that where term time absence is unavoidable it is necessary for parents to provide proof of the reason for this. Please ask at the Office if you are unclear or request to see Elaine Lynch, Headteacher.

LATE ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL

When your child arrives late at school, he/she misses the teacher’s instructions and the induction to the lesson. Your child may also feel embarrassed at having to enter the classroom late.
