Huntingdon Primary School Fri, 16 Nov 2018 09:00:37 +0000 en-US hourly 1 Library Fri, 16 Nov 2018 09:00:37 +0000 We have had a fantastic week visiting the library! We hope you are enjoying your books you have borrowed. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped!

Clubs Change Tue, 13 Nov 2018 08:38:15 +0000 Due to it being the Big Trip week and half of our teachers being either in London or prepping for London – there are no clubs this week (two exceptions – Year 6 booster and Coding Club will be on).

Children in Need Mon, 12 Nov 2018 13:12:22 +0000 We will be raising money for BBC Children in Need on Friday 16th November.

Children (and staff!) are invited to wear a spotty accessory (could be socks/hairband/Pudsey ears etc) and bring in £1 to be donated to Children in Need.

London Trip Fri, 09 Nov 2018 09:39:40 +0000 With the trip to The National Gallery in London fast approaching, we wanted to clarify the final details and expectations for the days. We’re taking around 500 children with us, so there’s some organising to be done!

Year 1 and 2: Monday November 12th
Year 3: Thursday November 15th
Year 4: Tuesday November 13th
Year 5: Wednesday November 14th
Year 6: Tuesday November 20th

Children will be expected to arrive promptly at school for 7:50am to leave at 8:15am. All children must wear full school uniform on the day, including comfortable and durable school shoes. We ask that children do not bring portable electronics including mobile telephones on the trip.

Children may bring a maximum of £5 spending money which will be their responsibility for the duration of the trip and should be placed in a purse or wallet.

As we know, the weather is often unpredictable so please ensure all children have appropriate clothing e.g. rain coats. All children must bring a packed lunch, unless you have previously stated that your child is eligible for a free school meal. We strongly advise that children are packed up with an extra drink and a snack as it will be an extended day for the children.

We will be Leaving the National Gallery at 2:30pm and aim to arrive back at school for around 4:30-5:00pm.
However, these timings are dependent on traffic and so you will find timely updates on the school website and social media pages to keep you up-to-date as we approach HPS.

Many thanks,
The Huntingdon Primary School Phase Leaders

Autumn 2 Sun, 04 Nov 2018 18:04:36 +0000 We have had a great first week back in year two after our half term break!

We are looking forward to learning our songs and lines for our nativity production and slips with our parts will be going home this week!

Just a reminder that we have PE on a Tuesday and a Thursday afternoon. As the weather is getting colder now, please can children bring in a jacket to keep warm outside.

We cannot wait for another busy term learning!

Our magic week Sun, 04 Nov 2018 17:24:04 +0000 We have had a spooky week in EY, exploring pumpkins and designing, making and measuring our own magic potions! We had to use our phonics skills to write a list of our potion ingredients, and our knowledge of capacity and measuring to ensure our potions were right. We then thought of spells to go with them and decided what would happen next. There were some fantastic ideas and lots of great talk!

Y6 Residential Fri, 02 Nov 2018 14:52:09 +0000 The reply slips for the Y6 residential trip are due back today. We’re still waiting on a few so we’ve decided to extend the deadline to Monday.

Please return your slip by Monday as we’ll then be booking the accommodation and you may miss your chance! Monday is the absolute last chance to bag a place.

(Even if you don’t want a place please return the slip saying such, so that we know.)
