Free School Dinners!

by | Apr 19, 2018

Effective from 1 April 2018, the new income threshold for families on Universal Credit, for Free School Meals (FSM) will be £7,400 net (take home pay).

If you qualify now, then you’ll get Free School Meals until 2022, even if your income goes up above the threshold. So definitely worth applying for now, even if you currently get meals free automatically in Early Years, Y1 or Y2, or you expect your income to lift you above the threshold in future! This could save you up to £400 a year!

The school also receives extra Pupil Premium funding for each child who qualifies – but only if you’ve filled out the form.

You can apply online via the Cambs FSM website here: Cambridgeshire Free School Meals

If you have any queries about the changes or general enquiries about Free School Meals, please contact EWB.FSM@cambridgreshire.gov.uk or 01223 703200.
