Subject: Important Message for schools – Consultation on changes to Free School Meal / Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) criteria for families on Universal Credit

To ALL SCHOOLS

We are writing to advise you that we have just received notification that the Department for Education are carrying out a consultation on proposed changes to the Free School Meal / Early Years Pupil Premium  (EYPP)  criteria for families who will be in receipt of Universal Credit.  The consultation is open now and closes on 11 January 2018.

Please find a link to the consultation https://consult.education.gov.uk/healthy-pupil-unit/fsm/ and  survey https://consult.education.gov.uk/healthy-pupil-unit/fsm/consultation/intro/

We appreciate that the timing of this is less than ideal, but would be very grateful for your help in ensuring that the parents / carers of pupils at your school are made aware of this, so they can respond individually.

If you have any queries, please direct them to Dawn Rogers, Lead Education Welfare Benefits Officer, Cambridgeshire County Council,  Dawn.Rogers@Cambridgeshire.gov.uk or Pupil.Premium@cambridgeshire.gov.uk  or on 01223 703854.
