Home Learning

Hello Year One Children, Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to our new Summer Term. I hope that you have kept safe and well during the Easter Holidays.

We have planned lots of different activities for you to complete and we are very lucky that Miss Hollison and Mrs Jones will also be working with us in Year 1 while we carry out our Home Learning. They will be commenting on your work and setting you some challenges too!

This week in English, we are reading ‘Sharing a Shell’ by Julia Donaldson and we will be making predictions about the story and writing a persuasive piece of text. In mathematics, we shall be continuing our learning about numbers including doubling and halving activities. Our Foundation Task is learning about Andrew Goldsworthy and discovering how he used the natural world to create his sculpture and art work. You will be able to create your own piece of art using the natural materials around you!

Additonally, we will send you a Daily News task and ask you questions about the world around you.  We will also ask you to complete weekly spellings and number bond tasks.

I have sent you more resources on Seesaw which you may find useful for additional learning activities.

Take care and stay safe! Have fun with your learning activities.

Best wishes,

Miss Bowtell
