About our school

School Dinners at HPS

After half term, we will be partnering with a new catering company called Lunchtime, who will be providing all of our school meals. We are excited to begin working with them to provide healthy and varied meal choices for the children to keep them fuelled through the day.

We are going to be using a system where the children can order their main course at the beginning of the day.  They will have the chance to discuss the menu with their teacher, pictures will be available (see below).  There will be a 3-week rolling menu with 4 options available every day.

  1. A hot cooked meal, meat based.
  2. A hot cooked meal, plant based. V
  3. The pasta or baked potato option.
  4. The “Lunchtime Lunchbox” (this may include rolls, wraps or sandwiches, salad sticks, fresh fruit, and pudding).

The children will then be given a coloured wristband to wear showing their meal choice, for example a red band for the meat-based option. We hope this will help to reduce food waste, speed up the lunch service and also will help ensure that children receive their preferred choice of meal.

Children bringing a packed lunch from home will not be given a wristband and will go into lunch in the usual way.

From Monday 26 February, the cost of a school lunch will be £2.60.

If your child is entitled to Free School Meals, then they will continue to receive a free lunch.

Don’t forget… All children in years Reception, 1 and 2 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal – this means that there is no charge to you as parents and we would really encourage the children to have the school meal.

Paying online

Use our app, Pupil Asset, to pay for meals, uniform orders, clubs and trips.

You can now pay for school dinners using our online payments system called Pupil Asset. The app allows you to view your current balance and top up your credit as needed without having to find the right change or deal in cash. The app is available from the app store on your device, or you can also log in on the web at the Pupil Asset website.

Free School Meals

All children that are in reception, year 1 and year 2 are entitled to receive FREE SCHOOL MEALS!  We think it’s a fantastic idea so please make sure you support this initiative.

Not only will you be saving money, but you will also be giving your child a nutritionally balanced meal to fuel their bodies for the rest of their learning day.

You can apply for Free School Meals online here.

Allergens

If you or your chid has an allergen, please talk to the school office.

We prepare and cook all our food ourselves on site and can provide allergy information for all the food we serve.
