What a week!

Last week we all enjoyed a Panto version of Robin Hood, with Amelia thinking it was “very nice”, and Alicija adding, “It was AMAZING!  I really liked when they sang Shotgun. Everyone knew the song and it just made me smile!” This week we have continued to celebrate the season by practicing our Year 6 Christmas song (now changed to Jingle Bell Rock), as well as blending Christmas into the Maths curriculum by graphing holiday coordinates on a grid and finishing our geometrically inspired Christmas cards.  Guliano shared that he liked creating the patterns. Carrying on with Maths, we have been challenging ourselves to not only find and mark coordinates, but to also improve individual multiplication skills through a timed activity each morning. Liam likes this activity as, “It helps me ‘cause I learn them better…Like, I can get better at my 9 times-table and you could ask me anything and I can answer it really fast!”  Finally, English has been centered around inference and first person writing. After watching and inferring authorial intent, the pupils have written a diary entry as Edgar, the dragon from the John Lewis advert. Although we are all looking forward to some rest, please remember to keep your child’s brain active by checking out Seesaw and MangaHigh over the break.
