It has been another busy week in Year 5 with lots of work being completed and posted on Seesaw. We are proud of each and everyone of you.
Please keep up the good work and keep an eye out for Star of the Week. Each week we will be choosing 1 child from each class to receive the star. As the saying goes it could be you!
Here are this week’s stars.
Hello Year 5,
We have been very impressed by the amount of work you have completed on Seesaw yesterday. Keep this up!
Every day Mr Eldon, Mrs Valentine and I will be posting English and Maths work for you to complete at home. There will be one foundation subject project which we would like you to complete by Friday of each week. This needs to be an in depth piece of work which you can present in any way you like. You need to complete careful research and present the information in your own words.
Don’t forget to join in with the PE sessions on YouTube with Joe Wicks at 9am every day. Here is the link for yesterday’s session in case you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz0go1pTda8
Keep an eye on this webpage and Seesaw as we will be posting links that might be useful.
Take good care of yourselves and stay safe.
Mr Eldon, Mrs Valentine and Mrs Delaney
Please note that the Year 5/6 after school Drama Group is cancelled until further notice.
We have had a great STEM week in Year 5 learning about different forces and how they act. We have carried out quite a few experiments during the week. We have made spinners and tested how they reacted to the weight of paper clips. Some of us made boats out of tin foil and filled them with pennies to test their buoyancy. Air resistance was tested with different materials and we then built parachutes to drop out of windows with an egg in then to test which parachute had the best air resistance. We also had a go at making balloon rockets. Here are a few photos of our week.
