Hello Year 1
Well done for completing your learning challenges this week! You have shown lots of resilience in your hard work and we have loved seeing your work on Seesaw. It has been great to see you and your families keeping fit with Joe Wicks. Keep up the great work!
Keep a look out each morning for your Maths and English activities which we will continue to post this week. There will also be a foundation project for you to complete by Friday which can be presented in any way you would like. Many thanks parents for your ongoing support!
Don’t forget to keep checking the website too as we may post things on here to help support your learning!
Keep safe and take care
The year 1 team
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have been learning about Instructions in English, Measurement in Mathematics and animals in the topic theme this week. As this is our first online learning week, it has been great to see the children’s responses to the activities set for them each day. Each week, we will have a new focus in English, Mathematics and in the topic theme and we would appreciate your continued support with this. Thank you. We will post more useful website information for learning at home on the Seesaw page.
With Best wishes and Stay Safe, The Year One Team.
We have been thinking about our ‘Diverse planet’ this week in STEM week. Linking Science and English together, we have been researching and writing fact files on the famous female scientist, Dorothy Hodgkins who received the Nobel peace prize for Chemistry when she discovered Penicillin and B12. We have also had a lot of fun in the Science shed and have thought about the conditions we need for plants to grow. We got our hands dirty this week planting Nasturtium seeds and this has been one of our favourite activities – We can’t wait to see them grow!
Thank you for working with us to support your children in their phonics. Below is the presentation which was shared yesterday at our phonics for parents session. Click on the first link to download the PDF version and the second link to download the power point version.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to discuss these with your class teacher, or alternatively, come and find me (Miss Barton) at Class 1’s door.
