The Year 4 residential trip to Burwell House is in full swing, and they’re live blogging their experience throughout.
We’ll be posting highlights on facebook, but check out the Class 11 blog where the whole of Year 4 will be blogging what they get up to throughout the trip, with plenty of pictures:
Year 4 are all looking forward to going to Burwell House next week. They will be live blogging during the week on the class blogs (hpsblogs.net) and at select times on facebook.
With all these updates throughout the trip we’d really rather children not bring a mobile phone with them.
Year 3 and 4 will be featured on Heart Radio singing ‘Sleeps to Santa’. This will be broadcast on Thursday 21st December at 8:30am.
Please tune in!
Last week at HPS, we enjoyed learning how to Bhangra dance with our visitor called Vijay. He taught us that the dancing we were learning came from Northern India and was used as a celebration dance. Vijay played the beat on a dhol drum which had two different pitched end. The treble end of the drum played a high sound whilst the bass end of the drum played a low sound.
We learnt the celebration dance in beats of eights and very quickly had our whole bodies in the rhythm. Year Four showed resilience and courage whilst enjoying a style of dance which was new to many of them.
Ask your child all about their Bhangra dancing experience, we know many felt enthused and wanted to learn even more!
