About our school

SEN and Mental Health

Huntingdon Primary School aims to provide high standards of teaching and learning in an environment where each child is valued as an individual and encouraged to achieve his or her potential. We have high aspirations and expectations for children with SEND. We want to support children to be confident and happy.

Who can I talk to if I’m struggling?

If you’re feeling low or struggling to cope, text HEAR to 85258 for free, confidential support, at any time of day or night.

This service, in partnership with Shout, is for anybody who studies, works, or lives in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Trained volunteers to help with issues including anxiety, stress, loneliness, or depression are available 24/7.  It’s anonymous and won’t show up on your phone bill.

Who do I contact if I have concerns about my child’s mental health, learning, progress or behaviour?

In the first instance parents should speak to their child’s class teacher. If following this you still have concerns you should arrange to meet with the SENDCO, Mrs Farrington.

Contact via the school office: 01480 375113.
