Week of 02.12.19

This week in Maths we developed onto the work we did last week and began converting mixed and improper fractions. Claudiu says it has been “a little tricky for me, but I am fine with it because I learnt a lot about fractions and improper fractions.” English has been focused on an interesting topic- How to Create a Balanced Argument – with pupils researching and discussing whether Baghdad and the Islamic culture could ever experience another Golden Age. Reggie felt that this activity made him feel that he was on an actual argument!  He claims to have enjoyed looking at and comparing both sides. In DT, we have finished the first step to creating our puppets for the pupil-written plays we worked on last week. Hannah feels that it was a “bit frustrating because the way we had to stick the sponges together and also on the cardboard.”  Happily, we were all able to create puppets and are looking forward to recording our plays. As it is December, we have begun practicing our Christmas song for the school-wide Christmas assembly! Feel free to join your child as they practice humming/singing/whispering ‘Last Christmas’ at home.
