USA! USA!

Hola!  Como estas?  Year 6 has been diving into the world of Spanish and doing muy bein.  This week our language skills have continued to grow we have learnt to express feelings and ask names in Spanish. English has helped the pupils visualize and describe some of the landscapes where Spanish is spoken as we travel down Route 66.  Rhys states, “I really enjoyed it as you get to write about Stanley’s perspective (in Texas), whereas in the book you just are watching – not being part of the story. Simas added, the combination of this and our study of USA geography has been interesting.  “I am finding new facts about the geographical features of North America. Niagara Falls [his favourite feature so far] was quite interesting because it is split into 3 different waterfalls!”

This journey continues as we have dived into the world of Jazz for music. Beatrice enjoyed our look at pulse and rhythm in music, though she was a bit nervous at first.  “I was kinda shy because there was the singing involved. But I started to like it and listen to it. I really like the Slick City Cat song we sang and put on Seesaw.“ In Maths the pupils have been focusing on percentages, finding amounts of a whole, and increasing and decreasing by percentages.  Sylvia raved about her SATs revision guide, which covers this topic, saying “they help me pass my SATs cause if I study, but not too much, I will pass.” We look forward to continuing our journey across Route 66 and hope that you will look at Seesaw to view our ‘travels’.
